Vacuum Casting
RTV (room temperature vulcanized) tooling and Urethane casting can be used to fill the gap between prototype and production. Secondary Tooling is used for producing 10-50 pieces of a single part.
This method is one of the quickest and most cost-effective for replicating your prototype master.
You may select from a range of urethane materials with properties that simulate the thermoplastic materials often used in production. This process produces small and large parts with excellent part detail. Cast Urethane Molding is a great process for pre-production runs and low volume manufacturing.
Here comes the specific procedures:
Step 1: Make the mother pattern by CNC, 3D printing.
Step 2: Surround the prototypes by boards and prepare for making molds.
Step 3: Pour the vacuum liquid silicone into the mold to cover the product.
Step 4: Bake the silicone mold in the oven to accelerate the curing of the mold.
Step 5: Get the prototype out of the mold
